Other Important Info
No limit to video length, just be reasonable!
No need to make this a spectacle; talent, hard work, and passion are most important to the selection committee.
Not limited to work developed at school; use whatever piece showcases your talent and passion the best.
Limit to one submission per student per award, but multiple submissions per student allowed (e.g. One student can submit for Vocal Classical Performance, Vocal Pop Music Performance, and Dance Solo Performance).
Technical Theatre and Design: that one is a little more complicated, so click here for more info.
SFAAwards submissions will ask for pronunciation of your name. Upload a short video or audio file of you (or someone else) pronouncing your FIRST AND LAST NAME. If you would prefer not to make a video, an audio file can be created easily with iPhones using the “voice memos” app or on Android by searching for “audio” or “recorder.”
You will also be asked to submit a headshot for use on finalist/award posts.
Tips for Videos
Use a phone (or fancy camera) and video your work
Video quality should be in HD, but no specific requirements otherwise
Use a tripod or set your phone on a stable surface to prevent awkward shaking.
Tips for Visual Art and Tech Design Image(s)
Use highest resolution available to you, can submit multiple angles of the same piece.
For the photography category, please only submit one photo.
This year, you will also be given the opportunity to sign up to display your artwork at our awards ceremony. More details to come.
